last weekend we spent a rather boozy afternoon with roland and rosie, and a few more aussies for good measure. many ales were consumed, as well as a few too many pineapple martinis at the other end of the table.
i came across what i think is my favourite beer so far. toasted ale by blue point brewing – a long island microbrewery. once again, the niche beers over here are fantastic.
also, the bridge cafe, where we whiled away the many sunny sunday hours, is a great little english-style pub just under the brooklyn bridge on the manhattan side. miles ahead of the plethora of ubiquitous sports bars.
